Aggie writes...

"Due to continuing bad weather on its journey down from Glasgow, the ships’ arrival has been further delayed, so today we took advantage of the spare time and walked around Lisbon. Unfortunately, on our way to the city centre, Doug had his wallet stolen by a pickpocket – not a great start to the day! I was in Lisbon seven years ago and it didn’t impress me at first, but now I have to admit it has captured me. Anyone who has been to Lisbon knows that the most striking feature is the appearance of the city centre buildings, which are clad in traditionally patterned tiles! I suppose it’s a matter of artistic taste, but the decor makes me feel like I’m in a bathroom all of the time. Don’t get me wrong, they’re very beautiful and the buildings impressive, but all the same, I would rather have a bathroom with these tiles! After having walked around almost all of the city’s streets, we returned to the hotel only to find out that now we’re not scheduled to board the ship until Oct 28th (Thursday)..."
