Cruise diary

Monday 16 June 2008

In the early hours of this morning we completed dive number 88 and recovered ISIS. As this was a sampling dive we now have lots more samples that needed to be brought in, described, cut and packaged.

With all the samples safely on board and ISIS ready to go again we launched dive 89, another sampling dive, this afternoon. This dive will cover a transect on the eastern side of the AVR and hopefully give us more information on the relationship between the pillow lavas and the flat sheet flows, both of which are seen in this area.
