Cruise diary

Saturday 31 May 2008

In the very early hours of this morning we completed our final traverse and recovered TOBI. Then at 6am we were ready to launch Isis. It took nearly two hours to descend the almost 3km to the bottom and at precisely 08:12 we got our first glimpse of the sea bottom in real time.

With a top speed of 0.8knots we estimate it should take us around 36 hours to complete our dive. Check back here tomorrow for an update on our progress.
