JC24: Dating volcanoes on the Mid-Atlantic Ridge

Cruise diary

Sunday 8 June 2008

Today we recovered our latest MAPR survey. Bram’s been processing the data, which this time was excellent and seems to suggest the vent may be near the area in which we carried out our first Isis dive. We have now launched another MAPR survey almost perpendicular to the last one to try and pinpoint the source of the plume.

Bram, Pedro and Morris plot our MAPR results onto a sidescan mosaic created from the TOBI data.
