15-03-2010: Flying to Montevideo (Uruguay) by Loïc.
Today is the first day of our trip south and we are leaving the UK to meet the RRS James Clark Ross in Montevideo (Uruguay, South America). The James Clark Ross (or JCR as we call it) has arrived in Montevideo in few days ago from a long expedition in the Weddell Sea. The previous team of scientists is flying back home while we are flying out to meet the ship.
Location of Montevideo
We are flying tonight at 21.05 from London Heathrow and all the participants coming from different UK institutions (National Oceanography Centre, Southampton, British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge; University of East Anglia, Norwich and University of Manchester, Manchester) will meet in Heathrow. We will arrive in Uruguay Tuesday at 11.50am local time (2.50pm UK time).
